The Daunting Dumas Beach

Located along the Arabian Sea, Dumas Beach is considered one of the most haunted places in Gujarat. The beach is renowned for two things, one for its black sand and others for being haunted! It is said that Dumas Beach was once used as a Hindu burial ground and hence is possessed by several haunting spirits that never left the region. Folklore explains that the existence of black sand is because of the amount of ash created by burning the dead which got mixed with white sand of the beach and turned dark in shade.

The Pinnacles

The Pinnacles Desert The Pinnacles Desert is deep within the Nambung National Park, in Western Australia. It is an other worldly landscape with thousands of jagged Limestone pillars piercing the desert sands, some over five meters tall. The Pinnacles are an ever changing spectacle with desert and coastal winds moving sand dunes, constantly rearranging the face of this incredible site. Smaller pinnacles disappear, buried under the sand, only to re-emerge days later as the winds change direction. In 1650 when the Dutch explored this part of Western Australia, they thought at first that these incredible spires were the remains of a lost ancient city! Padmanabhaswamy Temple Sri Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala State, South India. This famous temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. A seven-tier Gopuram (about 100 feet tall) and Padma Theertha, the holy tank outside, offer an elegant look to the shrine. The 25-foot-broad corridor with 324 pillars leads one to the sanctum. The pillars are exquisitely carved with figures of beautiful young girls bearing Deepas (lamp) in their hands. This corridor was once used for daily feeding of devotees.
